About
I know that the about page is generally supposed to include a picture as well as information about who I am. However, due to the nature of this site, I am not going to do that. Because of my feelings about my situation, it will be much easier for me to be honest about the numbers on this site if I can post this information somewhat anonymously. Enough about me, here’s something about the site.
I woke up one day a couple of months ago and realized just how much I was shelling out each month towards debts and money owed. It was kind of a shock when I realized this and at that point decided to try harder than I ever have before to get out of debt.
I am making slight progress with every passing paycheck, but it has been slow-going thus far. Hopefully, the more progress I make the faster things will progress, but we will see.
One thing to note, I am trying to get out of debt without making any significant lifestyle changes. By this I mean that while I have changed my spending habits, I do not want to sell any assets or give up cable and things like that. This means that the only way I will be able to succeed at getting out of debt will be to budget wisely and create additional streams of income.
Like any good blogger, I decided that as a way to get my self to remain focused on the goal and get some encouragement from the community I would set up this site to track my progress. Also, I will be able to share my situation with the world and hopefully help someone else who may be in a similar situation or allow others to get an inside look at what can happen to prevent them from ending up like this. Besides, blogs can be good revenue streams and I am monetizing this site.
I have decided on seperating the posts on this site into three categories. The “Blogging” category will be for issues related to blogging and the blogosphere. Things such as linkback posts and contest entries will be in posted in this category.
The “Ideas” category will be a place where I will discuss different thoughts and ideas that I have or come across that are related to managing money and getting out of debt.
Finally, the “My Finances” category will contain actual numbers tracking nearly every cent that I receive or spend. This is also the category that will contain any changes in my financial situation such as getting a raise or creating an additional income stream.
